Litter Box Etiquette (Part Three)

These three blog posts will give tips and advice for your litter box needs done in a question and answer style.

How Much Litter Should I Put In The Litter Box?

A good two or three inches should suffice. Cats need to be able to dig and scratch around while doing their business.

What’s A Good Way To Introduce My New Cat To The Litter Box?

Pick up your feline and put him in the litter box, and he’ll know where it is. Usually, your cat will sniff around the box and may even use it right away.

What If My Cat Stops Using The Litter Box?

If your puss stops using the litter box, something is wrong. First, is it clean? Cats will not use a litter box that’s too dirty. So keep a clean litter box.

Second, is there something different in the household? A new pet or person? Sometimes, cats need time to adjust to household changes.

Third, it may be a health problem. Problems include older cats not making it to the litter box in time, an infection, diabetes, or other health issues. So if not using the litter box persists, get your cat to the vet for a check up.

If you have any questions or comments on cat litter boxes, please do so in the comments section, and I will try to answer your concerns.
